Springfield, the gated 55 and older community on the ridge above Whitney Oaks and Clover Valley, has views in every direction. The flip side is that your roofline shows from a long way off. If the grandkids are riding up Springfield Drive this December, wouldn’t it be nice to have the house lit before they clear the gate? Springfield at Whitney Oaks Christmas light installation is ladder work you can pass to us. We supply the lights, put them up and remove them in January. Call (916) 642-7382.
Two associations, one question for The Gables
Springfield owners belong to two groups: the Springfield at Whitney Oaks Homeowners Association and the master Whitney Oaks Community Association, which looks after the gates and streets. Springfield’s own rules are kept behind a resident login. We haven’t read them, and we won’t quote you dates from memory or rumor.
The fix is easy. Ask the office at The Gables for the current holiday decoration rule, or pull it from the resident website. Read it to us over the phone at (916) 642-7382 and we’ll set both visits to match. The master association does post its documents publicly, and we go through those on our Whitney Oaks page. Whether Springfield’s version is tighter is something only your own paperwork can answer.
What we light on a Springfield home
All 868 homes here were built by Pulte between 1998 and 2003, across about twenty floor plans. Most have a two-car garage, and some have the extra bay for a golf cart. Roofline lights across the front eave and over the garage are the main event. They ride on clips, and the trim never sees a nail or a staple. Is your roof tile? Say so, or send a picture, and we’ll bring clips made for it.
Front yards are a special case. Springfield dues cover front yard landscaping, so a crew is in your beds and on your lawn on a regular schedule. Stake lighting has to get along with them. We set stakes where a mower or trimmer won’t catch them and lay cords flat against the edging. It’s smart to mention your plans to the office first, and we’ll remind you.
The smaller touches do a lot here:
- Pillar or column wraps for the porch posts.
- One lit wreath, hung high on the garage wall.
- Lit garland at the front door, where guests stand while they wait for you.
- A wrap on a tree that is yours to decorate. The trees beside the walking trails and the clubhouses are not.
We also decorate homes down the hill in Clover Valley, and we hang lit wreaths around Rocklin for folks who want one simple thing done well.
Springfield at Whitney Oaks Christmas light installation: the gate, the golf course, the clock, the busy week
The gate. Springfield is gated, and we can’t let ourselves in. We’ll need entry arranged through you on install day and on removal day.
The golf course. Whitney Oaks Golf Club runs alongside the community. If your patio faces it, golfers see your rear wall all month, and a short run of lights along the rear eave finishes the picture.
The clock. Every job gets a timer. Dusk switches the lights on, and they shut off at the hour you pick, so the street is dark when people want it dark.
The busy week. Pickleball in the morning, a party at The Oaks clubhouse, family flying in. None of that leaves time for untangling strands, and none of it should involve you on a roof.
Quotes without a house call
Ring (916) 642-7382 and describe the place, or text or email a couple of pictures of the front. The contact page takes a message too. Homes along Tahoe Vista Drive and Springfield Drive share those Pulte plans, so a picture tells us plenty. You get a quote, you pick a date that fits your association’s rules, and that’s it.
January removal
After the holidays we return, take down every strand and clip, and carry it off. Nothing to box. Nothing to lift onto a shelf. Should a strand quit before the family arrives, phone (916) 642-7382 and it gets repaired.
Springfield at Whitney Oaks families ask
What are Springfield’s rules for holiday lights?
Springfield’s rules sit behind the resident login, so we can’t quote them. The office at The Gables or the resident site will have the up-to-date wording. Once you share it, our two visits get booked inside it.
Does stake lighting cause trouble for the yard crew?
We place stakes clear of mower and trimmer paths and keep cords tight to the bed edges. Since your dues cover front yard landscaping, it’s worth telling the office what you’re adding.
How do you get past the Springfield gate?
You arrange entry for us twice: when the display goes up, and when it comes off the house in January. Expect a call from us before each trip so the timing works.
I only want a wreath and the front door done. Is that too small?
Not at all. A lit wreath and garland at the entry is a common request, and it’s quoted by phone or photo like any other job.
